WELCOME
To the ROGERS/GSSKELL Family Site
The Engles and Saxons [called together Anglo Saxons] after driving the Celts, Picts and Scots out of Britain,[country of the British tribes] renamed the country England. The Normans invaded and the name Rogers was created from the Germanic personal names, 'Hrod,' or old Norse, 'Hrothgrirr', and popularised by the Normans in the forms of 'Rogier--Roger'.
Gaskell, was probably of Gaelic origin found in Westmorland, and from the village of Gatesgill, in Cumberland.
Please feel free to wonder, but bear with me, as my underlings tell me, I'm a novice on the little box.
